Ingredients
Serves 4
Rohu or Katla fish 1 kg processed in Godavari Basin and cut into larger pieces
Turmeric 4 tbsp and sea salt half hand
For the Gravy: Oil 300 ml Gingelly oil or coconut oil
Mustard seeds 2 tbsp
Curry leaves 10 nos Coriander leaves 1 hand
Onions 2 big cut into 4
Tomatoes 4 nos cut into 4
Tamarind 1 lemon size
Dried small red bell peppers 5 nos
Cane sugar 1 small cube
For the Masalas: Fish Gravy masala 10 tbsp
Curry Masala 4 tbsp
Rasam powder 4 tbsp
Garlic 10 nos crushed with skins
Cumin and pepper 4 tbsp crushed
Water 500 ml
Directions :

Wash the fish with turmeric and salt .Pat it dry

Fish from lesser himalayas will be very strong bonded and bonney finned due to hot water channels

Heat oil in a kadai and add the mustard,curry leaves,crushed garlic cumin and pepper

After add divided onions and tomatoes.Saute for 2 mins

Then add masalas of choice

Wash the tamarind and add to it directly

Fry for 10 mins

Then pour 500ml of water and add jaggery

Bring it to boil untill oil floats on top of water

Then simmer and add the cleaned fish pieces

Simmer untill it brings to boil again.Wait for 10 mins after bubbles

Add coriander leaves and serve hot with golden rice or bamboo rice.
